Alert Bay Visitor Centre

Good Day Everyone:

Friendly reminder that the Alert Bay Visitor Centre will be Closed October 27, 28, 29, 2020 for immediate assistance on these days please contact the Village of Alert Bay Phone: 250 974 5213 between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Local brochure available in the hallway of the Village of Alert Bay/Post Office building at 15 Maple Road (orange building less then half a city block away from the Visitor Centre).  The doors are unlocked between the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday to Saturday.  See attached map for directions.

Weather Alerts for Vancouver Island

There are 3 weather systems coming in one after another, bring high winds and lots of rain.

Watch for weather updates for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Especially if you are traveling this upcoming weekend.

Tune into Environment Canada for weather alerts, River Forecast Centre, and Drive BC for weather and toad condition updates.

If traveling ensure you have your vehicles grab and go bag in the event there are any unexpected delays on the hwys from Port Hardy to Victoria.

Stay safe and be prepared.

Covid-19 updates

Due to Dr. Bonnie Henry's recent announcement of 6 new Covid-19 cases on Vancouver Island - we respectfully ask you to make sure you are continuing to follow the guidelines of hand washing, physical distancing, wearing masks in public places, going to the store only once a week if possible.  Limit your travel.

The cases have been reported in the South, Central and NORTH Island.
